The Rainbow Charity Night

For the first time ever Rosa Lëtzebuerg organised a Rainbow Charity Night in order to collect donations to raise funds for LGBTQIA+ activists in the Ukraine. It was a colourful event that took place on the 3rd December 2022 in the Ariston in Esch/Alzette. The Rainbow Charity Night was the final closing event of the Luxembourg Pride 2022 as part of the European Capital of Culture programme around Esch2022.

The event gave our guest the possibility to see the renown drag queen Medusa Venom who was elected Miss Drag Queen Luxembourg 2022 and the Luxembourgish singer George Philippart. Besides being able to enjoy the drinks and the delicious sweet and savoury snacks throughout the night, our guests had the possibility of participating in a tombola and a silent auction. Thanks to the following local artists this auction could take place: Pit Reding, a photographer who donated a photograph on aluminium, Lindsay Siebenbour who donated two prints to us, Nathalie Bütgenbach who donated an abstract painting, Christopher Morse who donated a papercut inspired by the Japanese method called kirie, and Helen Pisarek who donated 2 abstract paintings. Furthermore the freshly elected Mister Bear, Steve Goerend, took the stage to tell us about himself and his future plans as the representative of the Bears Luxembourg.

On this special occasion we also took the time to show the after movie of our pride week and the video of Edsun in the Amsterdam Rainbow Dress and to extend an Eulogy speech towards one of our honorary member, Patrick Weber.

But the most important thing:
the auction of the donated paintings raised 2490€. Together with the rest of the donations, Rosa Lëtzebuerg can support EPOA’s aid fund for LGBTIQ+ activists in Ukraine with a total of 4500€!
